Meet your Coach
Yann Danis is a graduate of Brown University, where he was a two-time All-American, ECAC Player of the Year and Goalie of the Year. He was also a Top 3 Hobey Baker finalist during his senior year. After graduation, Yann signed a contract with his hometown team, the Montreal Canadiens, where he recorded a shutout in his first NHL game, and also in his first AHL game for their affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs. Yann was awarded the prestigious Bas Bastien award for the AHL goalie of the year in 11’-12’ and was also a 3- time AHL All-Star.
Yann’s professional career spanned 13 seasons and comprised of playing in the NHL, AHL and KHL. Over his career, he had the chance to work with many renowned goalie coaches and learned different tools from all of them. He also had the privilege to play along side and learn from two of best goalies in the history of the game, Martin Brodeur and Carey Price. After retirement, his focus shifted to his family and coaching his two sons, one of whom is a goalie. He is now excited at the prospect of sharing his knowledge and helping young goalies all around the world elevate their game!
